PRAYER

Loving God,
As the colours of autumn remind us of Your wonder and creativity, we pause to thank You for the many blessings that fill our days — our families, our friends, and our school community.

Teach us to live with hearts full of gratitude and to recognize Your presence in both our joys and our challenges.
Help us to walk humbly with one another, to listen with compassion, and to serve with kindness in all that we do.

May our words and actions reflect the love You show to us each day.
Amen.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
  • CSCC School Fundraiser Success!
    • We are absolutely thrilled to share that our school community raised an incredible $10,738.30 through our recent CSCC School Fundraiser!

A heartfelt thank you to our CSCC for their hard work in organizing this important initiative, and to our students and families for their outstanding support and commitment. Because of your generosity and participation, we are able to enhance learning experiences and support a variety of school initiatives that benefit all of our students.

We are so proud of the collective effort and school spirit that made this fundraiser such a success!

Stay tuned—more details about top earners and prize winners will be shared soon on Edsby.

    • Once again, thank you to our sponsors including Residence Inn, Access Communications, Apex, Glencairn Bolodrome, and Browns Socialhouse, Browns Crafthouse and Liberty Kitchen for their support!
  • No School Days - Please be reminded that there is no school on Monday, October 27th. The staff of St. Theresa School will be participating in a spiritual retreat.
  • United Way Campaign – All That Kids Can Be

    • This year’s United Way campaign focuses on All That Kids Can Be, with the goal of ensuring that 90% of third graders read at grade level and that all children have access to age-appropriate books. Through community programs and partnerships, United Way helps foster a love of literacy and learning for every child.

To support this important cause, our school will be holding a Candy Guess Fundraiser from October 21–24. Students can purchase 3 guesses for $1, with guessing taking place during recess. There will be a K–3 prize and a 4–8 prize, and the closest guess to the actual number of candies in the jar wins the candy!

Let’s have some fun while supporting a great cause!

  • Safety Reminder - The safety of our students and families is always our top priority. We kindly ask that parents and care providers do not cross the street to or from the church parking lot, especially during pick-up/drop-off times. This is a very busy part of the day, and it can be difficult for drivers to see people walking out from in front of or behind school buses. For everyone’s safety—and to set a positive example for our students—please use the designated crosswalk. Thank you for helping us keep our school community safe.
  • Halloween Reminders - Students are invited to dress up for Halloween in the afternoon on October 31.  This may include a costume or dressing in black and orange.  Below are the costume guidelines:
    • Culturally sensitive, safe and appropriate for a Catholic school setting.
    • No fake weapons, knives, hockey sticks are to be part of the costume.
    • Costumes should not emphasize violence - weapons or blood and gore.
    • Costumes are to follow our dress code policy in regards to length of dress, shorts and tops.
    • Capes and masks will be left in the classroom for recess due to safety
    • Students will not be allowed to use the washrooms to dress up in costumes or put on make-up. Please ensure that your child is able to safely dress in their costume and that they are already wearing their make-up when they come to school.

SUCCESS & SERVICE

  • Make Bullying Disappear Magic Show - On Wednesday, October 15, our students enjoyed an engaging school-wide performance by magician Sitruc James, who presented his Make Bullying Disappear show. Through an exciting mix of magic, humour, and powerful messages, Sitruc encouraged students to be kind, stand up for others, and help make bullying disappear in our school community. A huge thank you to our CSCC for sponsoring this wonderful presentation! The students were captivated from start to finish, and the message strongly supports the work we do through our Character Strong and Health programs in promoting empathy, respect, and positive relationships.
  • Earn Your STRIPES at St. Theresa School!

Each week, St. Theresa School recognizes students who have “Earned Their STRIPES” by demonstrating the positive character traits that make our school community strong.
Teachers select one student from their class who has shown exceptional Service, Teamwork, Responsibility, Inclusivity, Positivity, Effort, or Safety throughout the week.

These students are celebrated for being positive role models and for living out the values that make St. Theresa a caring and respectful school community. Congratulations to our past week’s STRIPES recipients!

  • Lockdown Drill - This week, our school participated in a planned lockdown drill as part of our regular emergency procedures protocol. We would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Regina City Police and our School Resource Officers for supporting us during this important safety exercise. We also want to thank our teachers and support staff for preparing students so well, and to our students for their calm and respectful participation.
