Daily Prayer - November 26

Font Size: A+ A- Reset

In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen

Can you remember a time when you received a really special gift? Maybe it was something you wanted very much, and your family enjoyed getting it for you.

Their gift was a sign of their love for you, and it gave you a lot of joy.

God gives us gifts too. God gives us the warmth of the sun, food to eat and people who love us. There are still many more gifts to come that will be more signs of God’s love for us.

It is important for us to keep our eyes open and notice God’s loving goodness all around us.

Today, let’s give thanks for our good health. We are healthy enough to be here at school. Let’s give thanks for our eyesight, that we can see all the beautiful people around us. We also give thanks for our hearing. What a gift it is to be able to hear!

We cannot forget to give thanks for our ability to taste and smell. I especially love the taste of chocolate ice cream and the fabulous smell of popcorn. Mmmmm!

Thank you, God, for our eyes, our ears, our ability to walk and run, to taste and smell.

May we always be grateful for the many gifts we have and not worry about what we don’t have. Keep our school safe Lord.

Let’s end our prayer together by saying the “All Are Welcome, All Belong” prayer.

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Loving God, we thank you for the gift of today.
Help us to welcome everyone we meet, just like Jesus.
Give us the wisdom to treat others with kindness so that every person at (your school) feels safe and respected because we all belong here.
Bless us with patience and understanding to work together.
Help us to embrace and celebrate the beautiful diversity that exists among us.
We ask this through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Amen

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
